The MV Sea Queen
Maldives diving liveaboards provide an excellent standard of accommodation
for 12 scuba divers in six cabins each with en-suite bathrooms and air
conditioning. In addition, our 12m dive support boat which carries the
main compressor and dive equipment operates alongside to ensure maximum
comfort and safety.
We have no pre-planned itinerary on the MV Sea Queen Maldives liveaboards .
Come with us to the wrecks of Lhaviyani Atoll or the manta sites of North
Male Atoll. Let us use our experience to take you to where the action is -
the MV Sea Queen Maldives Liveaboards has the capacity to cruise all eleven
tourist atolls in the Maldives.
There are three ocean dives planned each day from the support boat and night
dives will also be made. Dives are co-coordinated by our fully qualified
instructor and all are preceded by a thorough dive briefing - the guides are
there to ensure you enjoy every
aspect of your dive.
The cabins
Sea Queen offers comfortable accommodation for twelve guests in six cabins,
four with lower double berths and single upper berth and two with twin
berths. Each cabin has a porthole and all are air conditioned by a centrally
controlled system as well as having a large wall mounted cabin fan. All
cabins have hanging wardrobe and under-bed storage space, en-suite
bathrooms, with shower, marine WC and wash-hand basin. The guest cabins are
totally separate from the working sections of the boat and are cleaned each
day while guests are diving.
MV Sea Queen
Maldives Diving Liveaboards include:

Electricity
There is a 24 hour supply of 220 volt AC electricity on board and an
emergency 12 volt DC lighting circuit. E6 Processing E6 Processing
. E6 Slide film processing
is available.
Water
MV Sea Queen is equipped with a water maker with a capacity for producing
two tonnes of water per day. In addition, there is storage for three tones.
Food and Drink
There is a good variety of both local and European dishes. If guests are
vegetarian or have special dietary needs, we will, of course, do our best to
cater for them. Breakfast and lunch are normally served buffet style and
dinner is generally served seated around the large table on the foredeck.
Communications
Sea Queen carries a mobile phone as well as CB radio and VHF. She is in
constant contact with the offices in Male .
Crew
On board the main vessel we have a Maldivian crew of five dedicated to
ensuring our guest’s comfort and safety – captain, deck hand, engineer,
waiter, chef. On board the dive support vessel we have a crew of two – the
captain and deck hand. All the crew are co-ordinated by the Cruise Director
and his assistant Dive Master.
Other Entertainment
On board slide shows are often given. Sea Queen also has a 14 ft Zodiac
inflatable with outboard engine which is used to take guests to the
uninhabited islands. When possible, we arrange barbecues as well as visits
to the local fishing islands where visitors are always made very welcome. In
addition a wave-ski and paddle and fishing gear are available for the use of
our guests.
THE DIVING
Diving takes place from our own, purpose designed 12 meter dive support boat
called Luna which has its own dedicated crew and carries all the dive
equipment and compressors. Tanks are filled in place on the tank rack so
guests need only assemble their BCD and regulator once at the start of the
holiday. Tanks and weights are provided. Often the best diving in the
Maldives is to be found in the narrow channels between the ocean and the
atoll rim and it is therefore essential to have a boat that is easy to
maneuver and with a shallow draft to ensure the safety of divers during
pick-up. A nice feature of the
Luna is that she will anchor a discreet distance away from the mother ship
when filling the tanks so guests are not disturbed by noise from the
compressors.
Safety
The safety of our guests is paramount. Both Sea Queen and Luna the dive
support boat carry a comprehensive first aid kit and pure oxygen. Both boats
also have ship to shore radio/telephone and GPS and the mother ship has a
satellite telephone system.
Dive staff
Aboard the Sea Queen there is a fully qualified PADI Dive Instructor who
also acts as the Cruise Director and he is usually assisted by a dive guide.
We do our best to provide guests with diving that is as adventurous as
possible and, with only twelve guests and two experienced guides, it is
possible to offer fantastic diving for divers at all levels of experience.

On Deck :
The foredeck of MV SEA SPIRIT is partially shaded and offers an ideal
place for guests to relax between dives. Meals are generally served around
the large oval table on the foredeck so that guests can enjoy the wonderful
beauty of diving in Maldives. There are steps from the foredeck that
lead up to the sundeck - a great place to watch the sun setting. On the aft
deck there is a swim platform with ladder giving easy access to the water.
There is a fresh water shower and camera rinse. |
